Week 3: Foresters: The Canopy Umbrella
Discover the layers of the forest from the forest floor at our feet, the understory above our heads, to the canopy where the sun beats down. Grab your binoculars and field journals. We will explore the diverse animal and plant species that call each urban forest layer home.
Week 4: Pollinators: Trees, Flowers, and Fruit

Week 5: Urban Explorers: Navigators of the Urban Forest
Grab a map and a compass to discover how to use orienteering tools to find your way through the city in the forest! We will play fun games and activities like geocaching and scavenger hunts to journey through the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum.
Week 6: Foresters: Home Sweet Home
Foresters examine the urban forests that many different plants and animals call home. Each layer of the forest supports a healthy urban ecosystem. We’ll collect natural materials for creative art projects and conduct ecology experiments at the Kendeda Center.
Week 7: Naturalist Week
Naturalists study how reptiles, amphibians, insects, birds, and fungi relate to our urban forest. This week will include hands-on exploration, interpretation, live animal encounters, and experiments out in the field and at the Kendeda Center.
Week 8: Artist and the Arborist
Nature inspires the artist. We venture out and get creative with the natural materials growing in Atlanta’s urban forest. We will gather materials to create various types of forest art!

Youth Theological Initiative
The Youth Theological Initiative was founded at Emory in 1993. We offer a 2-week, residential summer academy on Emory’s campus. The program is for students in the 9th-12th grades in the 2021-2022 school year. At YTI, youth explore their own questions about faith, justice, and their place in the world. Our program is rooted in Christian traditions and is at the same time radically inclusive. Youth of any faith are welcome. The goal of YTI is not to lead youth to particular beliefs, but to provide theological tools they can use to make sense of their own faith. YTI is known for our diversity. The Summer Academy is a unique experience where youth can experience deep belonging in the midst of this diversity. Over 1000 high school students have attended YTI’s Summer Academy, and many still consider it one of the most important experiences of their lives. July 10-23, 2022. I come to the Ural Dawns camp every year. For the 3rd time I got to change “Next Level” (January 2021). I really like to dance, but I’m not good at it and I’m embarrassed to go to dance clubs in the city. But when I come to the Ural Dawns, my skills improve every year thanks to choreographers and Ilya Kozhanov, I find true friends here and support from teachers and counselors. Sometimes I am sad to leave this camp, but I know for sure that I will come here again.

I really liked the new program “Accelerator of Leaders” at the Uralskiye Dawns (January 2-8, 2021). It was interesting, I learned a lot and in general I was very comfortable in the classroom. It was not like standard lessons, there were no lessons familiar to us. We talked with teachers from Chelyabinsk State University and thanks to an informal approach, we learned much more than if it were in a standard form. I really liked the prizes. It was unexpected to win a gaming computer mouse. and happy for all the winners! Excellent living conditions – comfortable, warm and very convenient! I will definitely come to the Ural Dawns for a specialized leadership program.

The game “RACE OF HEROES” in the pre-school “Ural Dawns” for the most active and friendly classes!
Friendly teams of MSML and MOU secondary school No. 65 had a wonderful time at the Ural Dawns preschool educational center in the weekend tour program on October 17, 2020.

At the end, each hero winner received a sweet prize. Additionally, as an order – beautiful weather, watching a movie, a disco and an evening fire!Tatyana Grigorieva, Deputy Director for VR MGML

They write about us
They talk about us
Dear organizers! I am so grateful to you all for the happiness of my children 🙂 The son returned and incessantly tells how cool and funny and interesting you are, etc. I need to sign up for next year right now! :))) What amazes me most about this is that you somehow manage to maintain this level of delight for the 4th year already (if we count from the first trip of my eldest daughter). May you continue to be well! Well, happiness and joy to you! Everywhere and in everything.
My time with you was pleasant and warm. I was glad to be in the circle of intellectual and educated people and I will be glad to come again. I really liked the flexibility and openness of the organizers, as well as the combination of different interests in the preparation of the program. I lacked some clarity in organization and structure, but this did not spoil the overall impression of the time spent. Thanks a lot!
Adi keeps talking about Marabou. It was not an easy journey. Overcoming long distances in the literal and figurative sense. Ascent to your own Olympus. Acquisition of new girlfriends. And her childhood friends remained the most devoted throughout the wonderful shift! Hooray 🙂 Thank you “Marab”!
Four days flew by very quickly, full of communication with great people, very different, but surprisingly harmoniously united by a passion for delicious conversations, delicious food and wine, able to find good topics for conversation without tension in relation to each other. At the same time, the owners of the chateau incredibly harmoniously fit communication, the program into the life of Le Sallay, into the special atmosphere of the old castle.
Many thanks to everyone! Danya and Margosha are delighted with their counselors Tasia and Valera and teachers. They began to get bored an hour after leaving the camp and they demand that they come to the same shift next year.
“The coolest teacher” (c) Airat [Bagautdinov] taught so much that it became difficult for children to walk down the street, they stop everywhere, study arches and columns. And “Russian mathematics is much more interesting than American mathematics.”

Website
The INNOCAMP children’s IT camp is an all-Russian educational camp in the field of information technology for children aged 10-17 years old.
The camp is held on the site of the Innopolis Lyceum with 5 meals a day and round-the-clock security. 100-120 children from 30 regions of Russia and 5 countries of the world come to the shift.
A distinctive feature of the INNOCAMP children’s camp from other IT camps is that children who have proven themselves in training get the opportunity to do an internship in a Russian IT company.
In the first half of the day, children are engaged in one of the educational areas:
-
Development of mobile applications in Java and App Inventor
-
Development of computer games in C# and Scratch
-
Development of web applications in Python and programming in Minecraft
-
Design and engineering of mobile interfaces
-
Internet Marketing
-
IT development management
Children can choose both the first and the second level of classes: beginners study in the group for beginners, more experienced ones – in the group for continuing. In the classroom, children are distributed in selected areas and are engaged in groups of different ages, which allows them to develop communication and cooperation skills with older or younger children.
After lunch and quiet time comes active time. These can be trips to Kazan and Sviyazhsk, paintball, sports days, Sabantuy, trap shooting, quest, photocross, swimming pool. After dinner, it’s time for evening activities: rope courses, quizzes, discos.
In the evening before lights out, a “team candle” is a summing up of the day and plans for tomorrow.
The children are grouped according to age. Each squad is assigned 2 leaders.
