Summer days and warm weather practically beg for an outdoor gathering, complete with plenty of food, family, friends and picnic games. Games are a great addition to any picnic because they encourage physical activity and keep the kids engaged and entertained.

With just a bit of planning and gathering of supplies, your next picnic is sure to be a success. Here are 10 great picnic games to play at your next gathering.

1. Picnic Basket Relay

Encourage children to take part in the setting up and cleanup of a picnic by playing this fun game from Mom Junction. You’ll need two picnic baskets packed with a blanket, dishes, silverware, food and other picnic materials. Divide the kids into two teams. The objective of the game is to have each player unpack a picnic basket, set up the picnic, tear down the picnic and repack the picnic basket as quickly as possible in a relay fashion. The thrill of competition and the enjoyment of successfully laying out a picnic will keep the kids engaged and cheering on their teammates.

2. Flip-Flop Kick

The objective of this game from Inner Child Fun is to see who can kick a flip-flop shoe off his foot as far as possible. Kids love this game because normally kicking off their shoes isn’t something that’s allowed, never mind encouraged. They’ll also enjoy the chance to try to beat their own scores by kicking their flip-flops even farther during the next round.

3. Water Balloon Spoon Race

What kid doesn’t relish the chance to throw a water balloon and get wet? A picnic is the perfect time for some water balloon fun. This game from Two Shades of Pink is played like the classic egg-and-spoon relay race, only children are challenged a bit more by balancing a full water balloon on a wooden spoon.

4. Water Balloon Dodgeball

Blend the fun of dodgeball with the thrill of a water balloon fight, and you have this game from Feels Like Home, where kids try to dodge water balloons instead of playground balls.

5. Sponge Relay Race

To play this game from Ladies Kitty, you need two big sponges, two buckets of water, two jars or beakers and two teams of energetic kids. Mark a fill point on the jars, and have each player dip the sponge in the water, run over to the jar and squeeze the sponge out to empty its water into the jar. The first team to fill their jar to the fill point wins!

6. Yard Twister

Kids love the classic game of Twister, and it’s also a game that’s easy to adapt to outdoor play with a circle stencil and spray paint, as My Kids’ Adventures demonstrates. Instead of painting the circles directly onto the grass, paint them on a big sheet or a tarp and let the kids get twisting. Bonus: You’re creating the playing surface yourself, so you can make it bigger for more players.

7. Human Tic-Tac-Toe

To play this game from Notable Music Studio, separate kids into two teams of three or four and assign one team as “x”s and the other as “o”s. Spray paint a large tic-tac-toe board on a tarp or sheet and play the game the traditional way, but with children as the markers. In addition to being just plain fun, this game also teaches strategy and teamwork.

8. Melt an Ice Cube

The objective of this game from Serving Pink Lemonade is to be the first player to successfully melt an entire ice cube. Roll the die and perform the corresponding action on your ice cube, whether it be shaking salt on top of it, floating it in water or even sticking it down your shirt for a few seconds!

9. Pass the Water

This fun water game from Moms & Munchkins will help cool kids off while competing to be the first team to transfer a cup of water down a line of children without spilling any.

10. Frisbee Golf

Just like traditional golf, Frisbee golf is set up like a course, but plastic baskets become the “holes” and Frisbees become the “golf balls.” Children love this game from My Computer Is My Canvas because it combines the chance to throw things (who doesn’t love that?) with the competition involved in getting the Frisbees into the baskets with the fewest number of throws.

Whatever your pick, we’ve rounded up a list of new and old fashioned family picnic games that are sure to give you hours of fun. They are ideal for playing with kids and adults alike, even better in a larger group, and promise you a true challenge.

A day well spent is a day filled with fun. And one of the best ways to bask in the moment and make good memories is by playing picnic games with your family. Whether you prefer a desi twist or an international spin, here are some of our favourite family picnic activities that are sure to make your day extra special-

1. The Ring Toss Game

Do you like truth and dare? Think you’ve got the guts to answer bold questions plus have a killer aim? Try the Family Ring Toss Game. Here’s how you play it.

How to Play

Divide two families into teams of ten members each. The objective is to throw the hula hoops and make sure each of them lands on their respective teammates’ pegs. Whichever team manages to finish landing all the hula hoops first get to ask questions. The losing team has to answer them truthfully, like it or not. And that’s precisely the point behind it’s fun.

2. Art Contest

What’s a fun way to let loose and get those creative juices flowing whilst enjoying your meal? Arting, that’s what.

How to Play

If your family has a bunch of artists or you want to start experimenting, get a portable easel and some paint colours with brushes. Paint the scenery in front of you and give a reward to the person who made the most beautiful piece. Alternatively, you could have a chalk drawing contest where you set up a street near the picnic zone for some chalk art.

3. Three-legged Race

The three-legged race is a classic amongst family games and designed to be fun for everyone.

How to Play

Get a couple pieces of fabric or strings and divide your family members into teams of two. Tie up the ankles of the pairs of duos together and whichever two-people group crosses the finish line first, wins. You could modify the game even further or go crazy by adding a third person instead of two or tying both the arm and the leg for each duo-group.

4. Picnic Bowling

You don’t need to go to the mall for a session of bowling. Set up your own version of picnic bowling this way.

How to Play

Grab seven to ten plastic water bottles and fill them up with a bit of sand, pebbles, and stones. If you plan to bowl in the dark, you can add some glow sticks into em’ too to make them stand out. Get a basketball or football and bowl it with your hands. Line up your family members in a single file and whoever gets to knock down the most water bottle skittles wins. The water bottle skittles should have a pyramid formation to them before you start, just like your bowling alley.

5. Dodgeball

If your kids are older enough, the family can play dodgeball.

How to Play

You need to get a ball, preferably a dodgeball but a football/basketball works too. Start by forming a circle and the player in the centre starts the game. Try to hit every player one by one. Whoever gets hit has to leave the field and the game continues until there’s just one player standing.

6. Keep the Ball in the Air

The game is pretty simple. Basically, players try to keep the ball up in the air and not let it hit the ground. Here’s how you play it.

How to Play

Get any ball and divide your family into two teams. Set a timer for one minute and toss the ball in the air, not letting it touch the ground for a whole minute. After 30 seconds pass, allow the other team to come up with their challenges. For example, the other team may try to distract yours by running around, spinning around or getting in the way of the ball. They might even say something funny or whisper in your ears to throw you off-balance. Basically, whatever works to get you distracted.

Try to overcome the challenges and keep the ball up in the air and you’ll win points. If the ball hits the ground, you get nothing and this repeats for the other team until we have a winning team that keeps the ball.

7. Scavenger Hunt

A scavenger hunt is one of the best classic group games for a family picnic that gets you moving and thinking.

How to Play

Set up a list of objects to find and give each team a copy of the list. The items on the list should be a bit hard to obtain and not something you easily find in your departmental store. Split into different teams of two or three and start exploring the neighbourhood. Set a deadline for returning to the starting point and whichever team bags all the items or manages to obtain the most, wins.

8. Hide and Seek

There’s a reason why hide and seek games are crowd-favourites. Because they’re simply thrilling and one of the most popular Indian family picnic game ideas!

 How to Play

Have someone who will seek and make him count to 100. Let all your family members quickly hide in different places. There should be a time limit for the game as you don’t want to spend the whole day searching. You could add a twist to the game with ‘Tag, You’re It’. This will tell your seeker that you’ll be catching her. Whoever gets caught has to be the next seeker while the rest get to hide again.

9. Candies and Dice

Candies and dice is a fun game that ends with a tasty treat for everyone.

How to Play

Get three large packets of candies and a set of dice. The rule of the game is simple. Each player gets a turn to roll the dice and cast a matching number on each. If the numbers on both the dices don’t match, they put candy into their mouth and hold it between the teeth. You keep repeating this for everyone and the person with the most candies in their mouth loses. After the game, the fun part begins – and that is, eating up those delicious candies! This is also an amazing game that’s great for every age. If your kids are playing, just make sure there aren’t any choking hazards or parts.

10. The Half Empty or Half Full Glass Game

The Half Empty or Half Full Glass Game goes back to the concept of the glass being half empty or half full saying. Here’s how to play it and trust us, it’s tons of fun.

How to Play

To play this game, you will need-

  • Two large buckets
  • Water (either from a hose or from sources)
  • Teams of two
  • Blindfolds for every member

Start by partitioning your family members into two teams. The game is ideal for a group of eight but the more the merrier. The two empty buckets get placed in the centre and the team captains stand near them. Team members have to go one by one from each team, blindfolded. The blindfolded members have to carry water in a glass and fill the bucket, one glass at a time. Whichever team manages to fill their bucket first wins. Additionally, you can make the game more challenging by adding handicap rules like carrying the glass with only one hand. If kids are joining in, you don’t have to blindfold them but you can tell them to hop towards the bucket with one foot and fill the bucket up. Other ways of making the game challenging include carrying the glass with one arm only and your team members are also allowed to verbally give you directions.

Family games are meant to be fun, challenging, and thrilling. We’ve compiled a list that is not only thoughtful but suitable for every age. Whether you’re a couple, have kids in the house or spend a lot of time with your friends, these are some terrific ideas to make use of when you’ve got pleasant food, good mood, and some quality time to kill.

A company picnic helps coworkers get to know each other in a more relaxed setting. It’s a chance to get out of the office, eat good food and play games. Organizing a company picnic can be a lot of work, but this list will help you think through the details and make your event a success.

Get Organized

  1. Pick a Place for Your Picnic – Do you have an outdoor space near your building you can use, or do you want to get everyone away from the office for the day? Look for a place with seating options and plenty of places to spread out for games. Also, look for a place that offers shade and comfort. Consider nearby parks, ballfields, the beach or even an amusement park.
  2. Invite Everyone – Send an email with plenty of notice to let people know what you’re planning and when it will be. Decide ahead of time if this will be a family picnic or strictly for employees, and make a note of that on your invite.
  3. Enlist Help – If the event is a potluck, create a sign up where people can choose to bring everything from paper goods to chips or a main dish.

Collect company picnic RSVPs and organize who’s bringing what with a sign up. View an Example

An ideal picnic for the whole family

Protection against insects: mosquitoes, ticks, midges

First of all, you should take care of your child. It is necessary to purchase a protective agent that can repel insects. Ticks are the most dangerous. Everyone knows that they are carriers of such a disease as encephalitis. In our latitudes, fortunately, ticks infected with this disease are extremely rare, but just in case, you should be careful.

Also, in addition to protective creams and sprays, you need to dress the child in closed shoes, trousers or jeans that will cover the entire surface of the skin on the legs. Ticks usually do not know how to fly, they climb up the clothes, and then they crawl into the places they need and bite.

Mosquito protection is easier: just apply a special cream or spray on the skin, and these small annoying insects will leave behind. Also, specially for picnics, spirals are sold that need to be ignited exclusively in nature.

Picnic Drinks

The best picnic drink is ordinary drinking water. And it will take a lot.

Usually take water at the rate of 2 liters for each. There are a few tricks to keep the water cold if you don’t have a portable cooler bag.

You can also wrap chilled water in wet newspapers and place in bags.

To quench your thirst faster, and in nature after a hearty meal and in the sun you really want to drink, drop a little lemon juice into each bottle.

If the picnic is organized on the principle of home gatherings or in the cool season, it will not be superfluous to stock up on boiling water.

This is where a thermos comes in handy. But you will also need tea bags, instant coffee and cubed sugar.

What to take with you on a family picnic?

A set of warm clothes is obligatory even in summer, because you should not trust the weather forecast.

Grab a tent: maybe you like it so much that you want to stay in your favorite place until the morning of the next day?

In the summer season and off-season, you will need funds from ticks and mosquitoes.

Take the necessary medicines that you always take, as well as “fire stock”: headache pills, allergy pills, bactericidal plaster, iodine. You never know what can happen in the forest!

Next: we take everything that can entertain in the bosom of nature: – fishing rods; – volleyball; – jump rope; – favorite books

The list can be varied, depending on the preferences of family members.

What is a picnic?

Despite the fact that the practice of eating outdoors dates back thousands of years, the concept of a picnic itself appeared in France in the 17th century. Literally translated, it means “to peck something.” It was meant to be an unconventional light lunch on the grass, with each participant bringing something edible.

Modern understanding characterizes a picnic as a fun meal in nature with a company. To do this, choose a beautiful place in the open air in the countryside. It turns out that a picnic has four essential components:

– Fun; – food; – Fresh air; – Company.

The author of the photo is fotohunter/Depositphotos.com

Organization of a picnic, as a rule, falls on the person who initiated it. And the organization of any public event is a very responsible task, in which all the nuances must be foreseen. It is much easier to organize a picnic if the company consists of close relatives and friends. Then everyone will be ready to help with an idea, advice and deed, and even if something does not go according to plan, no one will complain, because any issue can be resolved instantly, by joint efforts.

Therefore, the main advice for those who decide to offer an out-of-town meal is to choose the right company.

Having decided on a group of participants, it is necessary to stipulate a number of rules that will be valid for everyone:

1. No professional fishing or hunting, because the purpose of the trip is completely different; 2. No tours and study visits to museums, because? That’s right – the purpose of the trip is completely different; 3. Not only food and fun are common, but also issues with transport and other unforeseen circumstances.

Practical exercises page

It’s not always possible to spend a weekend in a small family circle. Guests or relatives with children may turn up, perhaps you were invited to a family holiday for the weekend. Even if you do not have children, but your nephew or niece has a holiday, you can not only watch children’s games, but also take part in them directly.

When the energy of children seems to be inexhaustible, they cannot sit down even for a minute and their hearts constrict not because the vase might break, but because of their worries, so that the children do not get hurt or injured, then it is possible and necessary to organize the children

Try some game exercises that will help to interest and attract the attention of a child, regardless of age. Especially when “all games are played out” and chaos begins in the apartment

The exercises are very simple and, if desired, they can be easily changed, carried out both in the apartment and on the street.

Hello!

(contributes to the development of attention, organizing children, expressing friendliness, learning to greet)

Gathering children in a room and giving the task to move around it, nod to each other, smile. When we clap our hands 1 time, everyone should shout “Hello!” and try to say hello to everyone in the room. When we clap our hands 2 times, the children shout “Hi!” and also begin to greet everyone. When we clap 3 times, everyone says “Hello”.

If you liked the game, you can offer to play it, pretending to be a robot. Move like a robot, nod your head and say, dividing the word into syllables: “hello.” “hello”, “hal-low”. You can offer another version of the greeting word: in Spanish, French, German.

For preschool children, the following option is suitable: when we clap our hands 1 time, we greet like mice: “wee-wee-wee”; 2 claps – we greet like dogs: “woof-woof”; 3 claps – we greet like cats: “meow-meow.

“Rain in the forest”

(provides psychological relief)

Children stand in a semicircle. And an adult reads the text and performs actions with his hands, which they repeat after him.

A strong wind is blowing (three hands), and it starts to rain “drip-drip” (slowly slapping our thighs). But the rain intensifies (clapping a little faster) and turns into a downpour (clapping quickly), and then into hail (stomping feet). That’s how the storm broke out! But it is already subsiding (we stop stomping, but we continue to clap on the hips). The rain subsides (we clap very slowly), the breeze rustled softly (we rub our palms) – and the sun came out (we throw our hands up).

“Sing a song”

(you can sing any song, but children must know it)

The children are invited to sing any well-known children’s song in different ways: cheerfully, in a whisper, with sadness, with resentment, with surprise, loudly, quickly. If the child has a birthday, then you can sing a congratulatory or any other song at the request of the children.

All exercises are quick and easy, do not require any special devices, are interesting for children of any age, help organization and promote cohesion. To make the exercises even more fun, adults can join in and enjoy participating.

Enjoy your holiday!

Family picnic – what to cook?

In the conventional sense, a country holiday is primarily barbecue, burgers, sausages, soda and alcohol. However, it is difficult to call this option healthy, and you should not get involved in such products in the summer at all.

First, they are extremely high in calories. In the summer, in the heat, our body spends a minimum of energy to maintain body temperature, which means that the caloric content of the diet should be less than in the cold season.

Secondly, such products spoil quickly. For example, meat or fish that have lain outdoors in the summer for more than 4 hours should not be eaten – you risk getting poisoned. In addition, you should not dress salads with mayonnaise or sour cream, prepare snacks with eggs, pate, soft cheese, and also take yogurt and other dairy products for a picnic in nature.

“Thirdly, when thinking about what to cook for a picnic in nature, you should not forget the main rule of a balanced diet: the optimal ratio of proteins, fats and carbohydrates is 30% -30% -40%, respectively,” says Alla Shilina, doctor- nutritionist, Herbalife expert. And the menu for a picnic must be selected accordingly, so that unpleasant sensations do not overshadow the impressions of the rest.

Diet barbecue

If you still want to cook meat, we advise you to take the least calorie varieties – chicken, turkey, veal, and not pork or lamb. Also, avoid fatty marinades, in particular mayonnaise. Light and tender barbecue can be prepared with kefir, ayran, whey or lemon juice.

And the healthiest option is, of course, fish kebab. Firstly, it is well absorbed and rich in useful elements, and secondly, it is quickly prepared. Trout, salmon, cod, sturgeon, tuna, pink salmon, carp are well suited for barbecue. We advise you to wrap the fish in foil before frying so that it is more juicy and does not burn.

Grilled vegetables

Vegetables go well with fish or meat skewers. You should not make a salad out of them, in which case the vegetables will quickly lose their juice and go limp in the air. It’s better to cut them up. Potatoes can be cooked according to a recipe familiar from childhood – in coals, previously wrapped in foil.

But don’t eat potatoes with meat kebabs. The digestion of starch and protein requires a different composition of gastric juice, and the simultaneous consumption of meat and potatoes will slow down digestion and cause heaviness in the stomach.

Fruits and desserts

When planning what to cook for a picnic in nature, do not forget about fruits and fresh berries. They need to be thoroughly washed at home and packed in containers. Just like potatoes, you can bake apples in foil – it will turn out juicy and appetizing. Bananas and pears can be fried on a grill or grill: this is how they get a piquant taste.

In order for fruits to be properly digested and not cause heaviness in the stomach and intestines, they should be eaten half an hour before meals, and not for dessert, as many are accustomed to.

Dried fruits, nuts, biscuits, light biscuits and muffins without perishable creams and creams are perfect for dessert.

A good option for a picnic is “multifunctional” foods such as protein bars. They are both nutritious, easy to digest and do not require cooking. “Don’t forget to drink the bar with water: only in this way the fiber contained in them will begin to work. In addition, after eating foods high in protein, the body always requires more fluid, ”explains Alla Shilina.

Drinks

Take no less than a liter of water for a picnic. In addition to water, fruit drinks and homemade lemonades are suitable for picnics, which perfectly quench your thirst. Delicious lemonade is obtained, for example, from lemon and ginger.

It is prepared in a few minutes:
  1. Dissolve 50 g of sugar in a glass of hot water 50 g of grated ginger;
  2. bring the mixture to a boil;
  3. remove from heat and wait 10 minutes for the syrup to infuse;
  4. mix with the juice of four lemons and two liters of water;
  5. the most delicious summer drink is ready!

We wish you a wonderful picnic in nature! What to cook, you already know. It remains to find a good place and go to rest.

Appetite in the air increases many times, so be prepared for the fact that a child who dine at home with whims and reluctantly, at a picnic, suddenly eats everything and starts asking for more.

A family picnic is a great way to relax and really spend time with your family, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Picnic

Outdoor games

Take badminton and a volleyball or soccer ball with you to nature. Active games will be most welcome. The “fighting spirit” will rally and the appetite will work up)))

“Twister”

One of the most popular children’s games, which provides for the presence of a canvas with multi-colored circles. This is a fun activity for kids and adults that tests their bodies for flexibility.

Feed the Hat

This is a quiet and peaceful game suitable even for the little ones. All you need is hats (caps), tennis balls and tablespoons. Despite the strange set, all items interact perfectly with each other.

Players are divided into two teams and run to the hat along with a spoonful of food (tennis ball, boiled egg or apple, for example). After that, they pass the baton to the next player, and he again “feeds the hat”. If the ball fell out of the cutlery, then the participant returns to the start again. The path to the hat, depending on the age of the players, can be winding and full of obstacles. The winner is the one whose team feeds the hat first.

“Forest Engine”

The engine needs to get to its destination, where a surprise awaits it (for example, sweets). The family lines up by age and takes each other by the shoulders or waist, after which the wagons move off, avoiding obstacles in their path.

The locomotive (the first trailer) can come up with funny routes with sudden stops or vice versa with small accelerations.

The game is very fun and guaranteed to give a positive experience to all participants!

Helpful Hints

It is very difficult to foresee everything and not forget anything when preparing a picnic, but you can try to avoid the most common mistakes by listening to some tips:

Tip 1. Make a list of everything you need what things you may need, from bedspreads to toys for the child. Most often, all sorts of little things are forgotten at home: napkins, garbage bags, a first aid kit, plain water, a camera. In order not to join the ranks of unfortunate vacationers, gather strictly according to the list.

Tip 2. Find a suitable place

For a makeshift table, choose a flat surface, without bumps and stumps. Directly on the ground you need to put a disposable tablecloth, and already on top of it you can cover it with a beautiful bedspread.

Tip 3. Don’t forget about the wind

To keep napkins, disposable plates and cups from flying apart in the wind, figure out how to fix them. If the dishes for this can simply be filled with food, then this number will not work with napkins. Do you want it to be beautiful? Then buy inexpensive jewelry for them, such as rings. In the event that this option does not suit you, use ordinary bagels instead of napkin rings.

A well-planned and carefully organized picnic will leave pleasant memories for a long time. On cold winter evenings, you will remember with pleasure the bright greenery, the smell of a fire and the smiles of friends and loved ones.

Where is the best place to have a picnic?

Here it is important to understand that the choice of location is directly related to the comfort of transportation. First of all, it is worth considering familiar (tested) options for recreation, such as a city park or square

Important!

Be sure to look out for prohibitions in picnic areas regarding campfires, swimming, and camping. If you are not satisfied with such crowded places, then when traveling to remote corners of our country, be sure to inform the Ministry of Emergency Situations about your family event

The safety of your family is the only thing that matters!

Favorite places for organizing a picnic are: forest, mountains, near a river, near a lake or sea, under tree in the country or in the park.

Outdoor essentials:

Picnic clothing.

Dress your child according to the season, so that he does not overheat, but also does not freeze. Take a spare set with you in case the child gets wet or forgets to ask to go to the toilet. If the picnic will take place in the evening, then in order to avoid mosquito bites, the child should wear light pants and a shirt with a sleeve. Even if it seems to you that it’s not too sunny outside, cover your child’s head with a panama hat or a cap – small children “burn out” very easily and get heatstroke.

Picnic food.

Be sure to think in advance what exactly the baby will eat at the picnic. You should not think that he will be able to “get by” with cookies or sweets – in the fresh air, children have an excellent appetite. Take a cooler bag with you, put some cheese, sausages, kefir and baby juice in it. Fruits and vegetables can be put in a regular bag. Be sure to take bread, the child will like to fry it on a fire. If a barbecue is planned for a picnic, separately marinate a couple of pieces of meat for your baby in kefir and without spices.

Water. Carry plenty of drinking water with you, and for convenience, pour it into a baby bottle as needed. Also, take large bottles of water for washing your hands, vegetables and fruits.

Picnic toys.

The ball is a toy that is relevant always and everywhere, but if it’s a picnic, then you can’t do without it. You can also take children’s tennis rackets, soap bubbles and a sandbox set. A toy rake will help you clear the area, and you can put branches for a fire in a bucket. So that the child does not get bored on the road, take a couple of books with you.

Furniture and first aid kit.

Furniture, rugs, umbrella. Think about what and where you will be located during the picnic. You may need folding chairs and a table, or it may be more convenient to sit on bedspreads and blankets. An excellent option would be karemats – special tourist thermal insulating mats, on which it is safe to sit even for a small child. In addition, they are quite dense and it is convenient to lay out children’s toys on them. If you go out into the open, be sure to take a good large umbrella to protect yourself from the midday sun.

First aid kit. Bruises and cuts appear on the child’s body very quickly, especially in nature. Usually parents do not even have time to notice what exactly happened. Thin children’s skin can be cut even by dense grass, and bruises appear with almost every awkward movement. If you rest near a reservoir, then the risk of sunburn is also very relevant, since it is much easier to earn them in water than on land. Take with you special creams for insect bites and ointments for burns (with panthenol), designed specifically for children.

Now you are ready for a family vacation in nature! It remains to persuade her husband and children to go on a picnic next weekend. Enjoy the warm sun, cool water and fresh breeze! And at the same time, read the article on how to prepare a picnic for friends and colleagues.

How to choose a place for a picnic

Do not think that a place will be found by itself. Unless you are going to have a picnic on your own site, then in order not to spoil your plans, you should choose a site in advance
. First of all, it should be a fairly sunny and dry clearing. At the same time, the presence of trees nearby is desirable in order to be able to hide from the scorching and blinding rays. Remember that even the spring sun can noticeably burn the skin, weaned from ultraviolet radiation during the long winter.

It is necessary to choose a place for a picnic in nature in advance.

Of course, it is important to choose a place for a picnic not too far
– so that the road does not take much time. Otherwise, the rest will turn out to be extremely short, and the path will be tedious

If only adults gather in your company, and even avid fishermen, then choose a place for a picnic near a pond
. But if you have children with you, and swimming does not fit into the planned program, then this beauty should be excluded: the picnic will inevitably be spoiled by the need to drive the children away from the water. After all, you want to relax, and not play the role of a strict counselor, right?

The clearing you like should be carefully inspected
. It should not contain any debris left over from your predecessors, nor anthills or wasp nests. Unpleasant neighbors will also be nettles or thorny bushes, poisonous plants

This is especially important if you have very inquisitive children with you

Competitions in nature

In addition to active games, you can organize a lot of fun contests for children in nature:

“The Best Cook”

since all you need is an empty plate, chopped vegetables, sour cream (mayonnaise) and bread. We hand over the ingredients to the children and give time to prepare masterpieces!

Adult critics evaluate culinary masterpieces for appearance and taste by giving points.

This is a competition, a game, and the development of useful skills, and the first snacks for a picnic)))

“Ryaba Hen” back to them. To the music, the chickens pass each other an egg (tennis ball), when the music stops, they sit on the ground. Grandfather turns and tries to guess the mother hen. If he guessed right, then he changes places with her, but no, then the game continues.

A picnic is an amazing opportunity to enjoy nature for the whole family, despite the difference in age. A well-thought-out vacation will help you connect with all family members and just relax.

In the meantime, invite the kids to the screen, let’s have a rest and watch a good cartoon about a picnic.

We wish you a bright, active and productive holiday!

HOW TO HAVE A PICNIC: “AROUND THE WORLD”

>In Britain, the tradition of picnics began in the 17th century. Having driven the game, the aristocrats enjoyed the trophies right in nature. Now the British gather on the beaches and in the parks, the main thing is that there is water nearby. They do not like to sit on the grass, eating sandwiches on specially installed benches.

>In Japan, seafood is strung on barbecue skewers, and ginger is always put on the plate – it absorbs the smell of a fire. In Japan, forays into nature mark the time of cherry blossoms.

>In Brazil, they prefer to bake one large piece of meat, from which everyone cuts slices for themselves.

>The French rarely use barbecues – for gatherings they have enough cheeses, sandwiches and vegetables.

Going out into the countryside, escaping from a dusty metropolis, admiring the scenery and just having a good rest is the dream of every city dweller. Who among us will refuse to spend the whole day in the company of loved ones in the forest, near a river or in the mountains? A picnic can bring a lot of pleasure, but only if you carefully prepare for it and take into account all the little things

Depending on the composition of the participants in such an event, special nuances should be taken into account that will make outdoor recreation unforgettable. pleasure trip:

Search for a suitable place.

Photo by kirill_grekov/Depositphotos.com

If a place is not chosen in advance, one often encounters difficulties due to disputes with participants. Aimless driving turns into a “chamomile” – “like it, don’t like it” and, after everyone gets tired of the endless stuffiness of the car, ends on the first more or less green roadside. Therefore, it is better to choose a place for a picnic in advance. The main requirements for such a place will be the presence of clean air, shady and sunny places, a forest or a lake, as well as the ability to make a fire legally.

Taking things necessary for good rest.

To avoid looking for matches or a jar of salt, you need to make a list of the necessary things and distribute them among the company members. This approach is especially relevant if you are planning a trip to the picnic venue, and not a car trip. If, nevertheless, the company gets to the place of rest by car, then you can take a few more things than necessary. For example, a ball and badminton rackets. The main purpose of things collected for a picnic is to make the rest comfortable.

Therefore, it is necessary to buy disposable tableware, a waterproof tablecloth, paper napkins, a good knife, matches and lighters in advance. Also prepare blankets for gatherings on the grass, a brazier and a barbecue grill, coal, an opener, insect repellent, sunscreen and garbage bags.

Clothing.

The main thing is that the clothes chosen for a picnic should be comfortable and practical. This will allow you to enjoy your vacation properly, without worrying about how to reach for the tomato on the next plate, and then how not to get dirty with it. Be sure to take warm clothes if the picnic lasts until late in the evening or the weather suddenly changes for the worse. Snotty noses after a rest will not add mood to anyone.

Menu.

Photo by Ivankmit/Depositphotos.com

Finally the main dish. There should be a lot of food at a picnic, because the appetite in the fresh air increases dramatically. And, of course, it must be delicious! The highlight of any picnic is a barbecue (options – grill or barbecue), that is, something that needs to be roasted on a fire. The main ingredients can be not only meat (pork, beef, lamb), but also fish and poultry meat, as well as sausages and vegetables. The most win-win option is when there is plenty to choose from. Therefore, the menu should be diversified: it is not necessary to marinate 10 kg of pork in the usual vinegar, it is better to make different types of barbecue using different marinade recipes.

Of course, the preparation of shish kebab should be entrusted to the most experienced “cook”, who knows that for its preparation it is necessary to use fresh meat and a set of certain spices. Only fresh meat will turn out tender and juicy, frozen meat will remain tough and tasteless with any preliminary preparation.

As you know, “the suite makes the king”, so you should definitely take more vegetables, bread, ketchup, fruits and soft drinks with the barbecue. Light snacks are useful for a snack while the main dish is being prepared, and will also be a great addition to it itself.

Fun children’s picnic: ideas for outdoor games

Games can be very different: badminton, ball and other accessories for outdoor games

It is very important for a child to think over an entertainment program, to be exact – how to have a fun picnic with children, otherwise they will get bored and nothing good will come of it

It is fun to get water pistols for yourself and your children. You will get a lot of positive emotions by shooting each other with refreshing water jets!

Hide and Seek is a standard game. But during it, you need to remember the safety rules and not allow the child to run away far: limit the playing area, for example, having discussed the rules of behavior on a picnic with children in advance.

You can also arrange different competitions, in which the prize will be, for example, the most fried and appetizing piece of shish kebab (you can come up with many different ideas).

Such fun is suitable both for an outdoor picnic and for spending time with children in the country, in the yard or in the garden

At home or with friends, it doesn’t matter! The main thing is to be fun, active and safe! Following these rules, you can organize a wonderful pastime for yourself and your children

Such a picnic with children in nature will be an occasion to remember it in the future and laugh heartily in a warm family circle

Following these rules, you can organize a wonderful pastime for yourself and their children. Such a picnic with children in nature will be an occasion to remember it in the future and laugh heartily in a warm family circle.

The article was prepared especially for DveMama.ru, including some personal photos from the author’s family archive.

Shish kebab at a picnic for children

The traditional main dish at all picnics is shish kebab. No one argues with this and asks to refuse this delicious food, but you must remember that children are with you at the picnic, so the meat for barbecue should be fresh and low-fat (chicken, turkey are perfect), and seasonings and marinade with the lowest content vinegar, citric acid and other harmful spices. It is better to cook the meat and marinade yourself, but if for some reason you cannot do this, then when choosing a marinated kebab in the store, carefully read the composition and do not hesitate to ask the seller for details about the product. When frying, you need to carefully monitor that the meat is cooked evenly – it does not burn and in no case remains raw in some places.

By the way, kids love to eat shish kebab directly from skewers, so to give them pleasure, you need to take special wooden skewers with you, and when you remove the meat from skewers, you just need to string it on skewers. Positive emotions of the child are guaranteed!

You can fry shish kebab in nature in any convenient way, even on bricks, but it’s good if you have your own barbecue or grill. Today you can buy compact barbecue grills or barbecue grills that can easily fit both in the trunk of a car and in a travel bag, in addition, many of them fold up and are carried in the hands of a special handle. Very handy for a picnic. For a country house, you can choose larger and more functional models, with tables and drawers, on wheels, etc. They are easily installed in the yard, in the garden, in the gazebo, in the open summer kitchen.

Family picnic items

Food is not the only thing that will come in handy during the holidays.

Bring travel mats or thick blankets, which can also be completed with an air mattress.

For more convenience, you can take with you a special picnic furniture, a set of which includes folding chairs and a compact table on which you can cook various dishes.

Special attention should be paid to the first aid kit. Should add painkillers and allergy pills

Painkillers and allergy pills should be added.

Mosquito repellent should not be ignored, especially if the picnic is planned near a pond.

Depending on the planned time of stay, it is necessary to determine the list of hygiene products.

Decide on a family menu

For many, the very word “picnic” means barbecue and booze. However, too fatty meat fried on a fire and alcohol does not fit into the format of family pastime. Therefore, adjust the list of products. For these purposes, chicken or veal, vegetables, dried fruits and nuts are more suitable. Refuse to use mayonnaise not only in salads (it quickly deteriorates in the sun), but in a marinade.

Meat will turn out more tender if it is marinated in kefir or whey, seasoned with lemon juice. Cut vegetables and arrange on plates. Do not forget about fresh fruits and berries. A great idea is to roast potatoes over a campfire. By the way, you can also bake apples. To do this, they must be wrapped in foil.

What food to take on a picnic for the whole family / A few simple rules – an article from the “Food away from home” section on Food.ru

a blanket, put a wicker basket, have breakfast on the grass with beautiful dishes and treats. What to take with you on a picnic to please all family members? We wrote instructions for you.

Making a menu

Each family member has their own idea of eating outdoors. Children will demand sweets, men will ask for meat and sausages, and the female half may prefer fruits, herbs and vegetables. How to please everyone?

To begin with, make a list of those dishes that your relatives will definitely like and will not take much time to prepare. To do this, have everyone write down the names of 3-5 treats that they associate with a picnic. Most likely, many points will be repeated. That’s what they should be guided by.

Please note that in the fresh air the appetite is played out in earnest, so it is better to take food with a margin. Not only can children eat dry rations and almost all the fruits on the way there, but on the way back, no, no, and someone will drag on the pitiful: “Mom, I’m hungry.”

We do not take too much

There are products that will not survive a long trip to nature. They should be excluded from the menu to avoid poisoning, especially if you do not have a thermal bag:

  • fresh fish;

  • desserts and pastries with cream;

  • ice cream;

  • dairy and fermented milk products;

  • meat cuts;

  • whole cheese or sliced at home.

We bring food to half-cooked

What then to take with you to nature, you ask? Products that will survive several hours of travel well, and those that are already halfway done.

Here is an example list:

  • marinated meat. In a couple of hours on the road, it will just reach the desired condition and you will get an excellent barbecue, and its preparation will take less time;

  • sausages or frankfurters in their original packaging;

  • fresh fruits and vegetables, berries. The main thing is not to wash or cut them at home, so as not to turn sour along the way. Prepare a vegetable plate on the spot;

  • bread, crackers, crispbread, rolls, toast;

  • pate in original packaging;

  • vacuum-packed cheese slices. Give preference to smoked varieties. This is a great appetizer and a great accompaniment to berries and nuts. Suluguni, chechil and vacuum-packed mozzarella are also suitable;

  • watermelon and melon. Take with you such a necessary thing as a string bag: you can put these bulky berries in it and cool it in the nearest pond.

Making simple meals

Cooking should not take much time and effort. You came to nature to relax, and not to stand at the barbecue or build an endless number of canapes and tartlets. Choose the simplest recipes. Remember that in nature, all dishes seem to taste better.

What can be prepared:

  • all kinds of sandwiches and bruschettas. Toast fresh bread on the grill, pre-greased with olive oil, make club sandwiches or sandwiches with cheese and tomatoes;

  • all variations on the theme of meat on fire. Barbecue, wings, sausages, sausages in pita bread, kebabs, burger patties. Don’t forget to bring sauces to serve, but remember: those based on yogurt and cream may not survive the long haul;

  • grilled vegetables, charcoal-wrapped potatoes, whole cobs of corn. You can cook a warm salad of eggplant, tomatoes and bell peppers with garlic, or get by with grilled zucchini;

  • fruits and marshmallows for children. Baked apples, fried bananas, grilled peaches, fruit skewers on a skewer. Moreover, children will be happy to cook marshmallows on sticks themselves, but under the supervision of adults. And bananas stuffed with marshmallows and chocolate can be a great end to a picnic;

  • grilled cheese, khachapuri on skewers (pieces of suluguni wrapped in lavash). These snacks are great served with grapes and berries.

What else besides food

When the question of what to take on a picnic from food is resolved, you need to think about other useful things that may come in handy:

  • a blanket or travel foam. The ideal option would be those that do not let the cold through and are easy to clean;

  • umbrella or canopy. If you go on a picnic for the whole day, you should think about where you will hide from the sun. For example, under a folding umbrella or canopy, which is easily installed in 15-20 minutes;

  • wet wipes to wipe hands, feet, faces stained with ice cream;

  • 5-10 liter water bottle. Rinsing glasses, washing vegetables and fruits with lake water can be unsafe;

  • first aid kit with insect repellent, sun protection, dressings, antihistamines;

  • travel board games, ball, badminton, frisbee, rope. It is better to discuss the picnic program in advance so as not to take the entire game arsenal, which as a result will not be useful;

  • paper tableware. You can take a real one, but it’s not practical. Plastic pollutes nature. So paper cups and plates that can be recycled or burned are a must;

  • folding grill, charcoal and ignition;

  • cool bag or mini fridge and dry ice packs. These things will come in handy to keep lemonade, water and juice cold, bring ice cream or perishable products;

  • knives, preferably several. Large – cut watermelon and melon, smaller – for fruits and vegetables, you can take a pate knife if the menu has bruschetta or bread fried over a fire;

  • foil. It will come in handy if you want to grill fruit or vegetables, get a sandwich with melted cheese, or bring a piece of meat to condition. Not everyone loves barbecue. Someone prefers steaks cooked on an open fire.

What can be done?

Prepare your favorite sauces in advance, arm yourself with the easiest kebab recipes and go enjoy your favorite snacks overlooking the lake.

90,000 15 Rules for a cheerful and healthy picnic for the whole pic families

Warm summer weather is conducive to picnics and outdoor recreation. I want to gather the whole family and quickly go out of town! Read about how to arrange an interesting and, no less important, useful picnic for your loved ones in our material.

Masha Guseva

Picnic without harm to health

For many, the picnic menu necessarily includes kebabs, sandwiches, alcohol and sparkling water. But this format is clearly not suitable for family holidays, and in summer such products are especially harmful. Why?

First of all, there are too many calories in fried meat, sauces and soda. And in hot weather, our body spends less energy on heating the body, therefore, the caloric content of the diet must be reduced in order to maintain normal weight. On average, with an increase in air temperature by 10 degrees, the daily calorie intake should be reduced by 5-10%.

In addition, in the heat, such products quickly lose their freshness. In particular, if meat or fish have lain warm for about 4 hours, they can no longer be eaten – there is a risk of poisoning. The same applies to salads with mayonnaise and sour cream, appetizers with pate, soft cheeses and eggs. Yoghurts and other fermented milk products are also not the best choice for a picnic. In the heat, bacteria will quickly begin to multiply in them and make them unsuitable for food.

Light barbecue

If your plans still include barbecue, we advise you to choose lighter meat – chicken or veal, rather than pork. The marinade is important. You should not use mayonnaise for it: barbecue cooked on kefir or whey, vinegar or lemon juice is easier to digest. In addition, fish skewers, such as mackerel or salmon, will become a light and healthy dish.

Balanced Picnic

Meat and fish go well with vegetables. It is not necessary to make a salad, so the vegetables will quickly lose their juice and spoil. It is better to simply cut them beautifully and arrange them on plates or wicker baskets. In addition, include greens, fruits and seasonal fresh berries in the menu. Wash them thoroughly at home and pack them in containers. Note: fruits should not be eaten immediately after a meal, as many are accustomed to, but half an hour before a meal.

If you are making a fire, take potatoes and bake them in coals – the kids will love this idea! But keep in mind that you should not eat potatoes and meat at the same time, because the digestion of protein and starch requires a different composition of gastric juice, and their joint use will slow down digestion and create heaviness in the stomach. Potatoes and meat food should be consumed with a break of 3-3.5 hours.

It’s also great to bake apples wrapped in foil in coals. It turns out very tasty, and for sure this simple recipe is familiar to many since childhood. In addition, even bananas and pears can be fried on a grill or a grate – this way they will acquire a special piquant taste.

Nuts, sweet dates and other dried fruits, light cookies and cupcakes are perfect for a dessert in nature. The main thing is to avoid perishable creams and creams.

A great option for a picnic – hearty foods that store well, weigh little and do not require cooking. For example, you can take a Formula 1 Express bar and a Protein bar from Herbalife into nature. The first of them contains 20% of the daily protein requirement (13.4 g), so it saturates for a long time with a minimum of calories (206 kcal). Another plus is that in addition to protein, the Formula 1 Express bar contains fiber and more than 20 vitamins and minerals, which makes it a complete balanced meal. In a protein bar, in turn, there is an optimal ratio of proteins and carbohydrates and only 135 kcal. Due to the balanced composition and low calorie content, such bars satisfy hunger for a long time without harming the figure. Yes, and to taste, they may well become a worthy replacement for the usual sweets.

Drinks

In addition to tasty or balanced food, be sure to stock up on water – at least a liter per person. In nature, in the heat, the body actively consumes moisture, in addition, water is useful for washing the faces and hands of your children: they will surely find where to get dirty in the forest.

Even at the picnic, both children and adults will be delighted with fruit drinks and homemade lemonades, which perfectly quench their thirst. Here is one simple recipe: in 1.5-2 liters of water, brew half a tablespoon of green tea, add a lemon cut into half rings and mint. Separately, dissolve honey in warm water, combine with tea and put in the refrigerator overnight. You can vary the ingredients and come up with your own recipes, the main thing is that you and your family will like it!

Family picnic as a holiday: outdoor activities

So that you and your loved ones, and especially children, do not get bored at the picnic, do not forget to think over exciting games and grab sports equipment.

Quest

If time permits, try organizing a small quest. Be sure that this will delight not only children, but older family members. To do this, you need to inspect the area for a future picnic in advance – a summer cottage, a clearing, a park – and find interesting objects there. Then come up with a list of tasks or puzzles and place them on these objects so that participants run from one to another in search of a finish line or a prize. There are many options and topics for such quests, choose the most suitable ones. Time is guaranteed to be fun and unforgettable!

Crafts

In a forest or park you can find a lot of interesting items — cones, twigs, acorns, seashells by the river, etc. build huts – a real scope for imagination!

Exploring the forest

If the child is not often in the forest, give him a short excursion: tell about tree species, mushrooms and berries, wild animals and birds. Children are very curious and will be happy to hear from you interesting facts about the world around them. It will be useful for you too – refresh your school knowledge.

Sports games

After relaxing after a delicious lunch, be sure to play outdoor games with your child – badminton, volleyball, frisbee.

Intelligence games

You can have fun and informative time playing a board game like “Activity” or more traditional “hat”, “crocodile”, “mafia”, “charade”.

Family cinema

If you have a projector and can find a surface nearby to point it at, it’s a great idea to watch a movie with the whole family after an active day. Plaids and delicious hot tea brewed over a campfire will create a cozy and relaxed atmosphere.

Of course, picnic leisure options are not limited to this. Search, invent together with your loved ones, and the reward for your work will be the happy smiles of children and the excellent mood of the whole family.

Final chord: a few tips

And finally, we will share a few tips that will help you better plan a family picnic.

  • For nature trips, it is better to have a cooler bag. If it is not available, cold water bottles will help: put them down the baskets or picnic suitcases, and food on them. This way they stay fresh longer.
  • When choosing a place, be guided by hills and open meadows: there are fewer mosquitoes here, because they are blown away by the wind, and more sun than in lowlands.
  • But even in this case, do not forget repellents so that mosquitoes do not annoy you in nature.
  • In addition, there may be ticks in the forest, so be sure to check yourself and the children after the picnic.
  • Just in case, don’t forget a small first aid kit with antiseptic, band-aid, painkillers, medicines for stomach and intestinal disorders, and antihistamines.
  • Take an antiseptic gel to nature and use it before meals. Make sure that children do not forget about him and do not take food with dirty hands.
  • After the picnic, try to leave the place in the same condition as you found it: don’t forget to take out the trash and put out the fire.

A family vacation in nature is a great opportunity to spend time with loved ones, forget about problems at work for a while and fully devote yourself to those who are dear to you most in the world. Don’t miss the opportunity to go on a picnic with your family on these warm summer days!

Outdoor picnic for the whole family — Koolinar.ru

With the onset of warm weather, we all have the opportunity to spend time outdoors. Compete in outdoor games to your favorite songs, and then sit on a sunny meadow or under a branchy oak, have a picnic with lots of goodies. Rest spent with loved ones in nature is a fun and certain “tasty” time that fills us with emotions and vivid impressions! We have prepared an article for you on how to perfectly plan a picnic and what dishes to cook for a picnic.

Recipes with tortillas

Burritos, rolls, envelopes, fajitas – so many options for easy-to-make and delicious dishes with these tortillas! And after all, such treats with savory or sweet fillings are really to the taste of the whole family, and the hostess has less trouble. The filling and methods of twisting the cakes depend only on your preferences.

Mexican Chicken Tacos

Tacos are a traditional Mexican dish. A taco consists of a corn or wheat tortilla filled with a variety of toppings – beef, pork, chicken, seafood, chorizo, refried beans, vegetables, and even stewed Mexican cactus pulp. Cheese, coriander, onion, salsa, guacamole serve as seasoning.

Grilled pepper tortilla

  • Spinach – 3-4 leaves per tortilla
  • Tortillas – by the number of people
  • Mint or basil – a pair of sprigs
  • Red bell pepper – 1 piece
  • Yellow bell pepper – 1 piece
  • Thick Greek yogurt – a couple of tablespoons for each serving
  • Mozzarella cheese – small piece
  • Vegetable oil – 1-2 tsp

Preparation:

  1. Rinse and dry the spinach on a paper towel.
  2. Rinse and remove the core of the pepper, cut into small sticks.
  3. Heat a grill pan with vegetable oil and fry the pepper on it, pressing down with a spatula.
  4. Preheat a regular frying pan, put a tortilla on it and heat it for about 30 seconds.
  5. Then put spinach on one half, then yogurt and after pepper, thin slices of cheese. Warm up a little.
  6. Cover with the other half and remove from heat.

Goodies with lavash

During picnics, all kinds of rolls, hot and cold appetizers with lavash are no less relevant!

By the way, a delicious delicacy is obtained if small rolls – tubules are dipped in a beaten egg, then in breadcrumbs and then deep-fried tubules are cooked literally for 1-2 minutes, until the batter becomes golden.

Recipes for rolls and snacks with lavash:

  • Lavash chips
  • Fried eggs in a crispy bowl
  • Lavash roll with ham and scrambled eggs

Quesadilla with bacon and vegetables

  • Armenian thin lavash (rectangular) – 1 pc
  • Filling:
  • Bacon – 200 gr
  • Olive oil – 1 tsp
  • Bulgarian pepper – 1 piece
  • Chili pepper – 1/2 piece
  • Green onions – 3-4 feathers
  • Cheese – 200 gr
  • Sloboda barbecue ketchup – 2 tbsp

Preparation:

1. Cut lavash into 3 parts, 3 equal rectangles.

Prepare the stuffing.

2. Fry the chopped bacon in olive oil, add the sweet peppers cut into strips (it’s good if they are of different colors), chili peppers, cut into rings and fry together for a couple of minutes.

3. Remove from heat and add finely chopped green onion. Grate the cheese.

Assembly.

4. Take one rectangle of lavash, grease half with Sloboda ketchup, put the filling on the second part and sprinkle with cheese, wrap it with a roll. Repeat everything for the remaining lavash and filling.

5. Fry the rolls on a dry grill pan for a couple of minutes on each side.

6. Cut in half and serve hot.

Bon appetit!!

Pastries

All kinds of sandwiches and sandwiches can be replaced by pastries! No, you don’t have to spend a lot of time preparing it! Simple tortillas or air puffs from ready-made puff pastry are no less easy to prepare.

Here are three recipes for simple and tasty pastries:

  • Pizza puff with sausages
  • Green onion tortillas in 15 minutes
  • Flatbread – grill for a successful picnic

What other options are available? One of the simplest, “lazy” recipes, perhaps, is the way to prepare sticks with cheese, cherry tomatoes or herbs.

  • Yeast-free puff pastry – 1 package
  • Hard cheese – 150 gr
  • Cherry tomatoes – 250 gr
  • Pepper and suneli hops – pinch
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tsp

How to cook:

  1. The dough must be defrosted in advance. To do this: carefully open the package, put the dough on a cutting board or work surface, you can spread it directly on the silver part of the package, leave it at room temperature for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat the oven.
  3. Cut each plate into an equal number of rectangles.
  4. Stepping back from the edge of each rectangle by 1 cm, draw with a knife.
  5. Fill this area with grated cheese, put chopped tomatoes, sprinkle with spices.
  6. Grease baking sheets with olive oil using a brush.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for about 13 – 15 minutes. The puffs “rise” quickly.

If your picnic drinks include hot tea, then you can make sweet bows.

  1. First, cut each layer of puff pastry vertically into 2 parts, cut horizontally into several narrow strips.
  2. Holding one end of the strip in your right hand and the other end in your left, stretch the workpiece slightly, and then turn one end in one direction and the other in the other.
  3. Turn like a doorknob. You will get a bow with an “overlap” in the center.

Hot

If you have the opportunity to cook barbecue, why not use it?

We have compiled collections with the best recipes for juicy pork or chicken skewers. You will find interesting ideas and cooking secrets and the best barbecue marinade options.

  • Pork barbecue recipes
  • Chicken barbecue

Drinks

We all know that homemade smoothies, fresh juices and cocktails are not worth taking, they lose their charm in the heat. Therefore, refreshing compotes and fruit drinks or homemade lemonades, cold and hot teas are good.

Collections with the best drink recipes:

  • Tea is welcome
  • Fruit compotes
  • Homemade lemonade

Fruits and berries

Fruits and berries whole or pre-cut are good to take with you. However, you can also “equip” vegetables in a separate container. Children will be happy to carry them for games and conversations. This is an excellent replacement for snacks, and adults will also treat themselves to fruit after the main “meal”.

Dishes for children

Children can be extremely whimsical! For little ones who don’t want to, we prepare funny delicacies in the form of animals, flowers or bizarre figurines.

Here are some ideas:

  • Plain Cheese Shortcakes
  • Cottage cheese cookies “Owls”
  • Sausage puffs for a picnic

Spicy mini-buns in the form of “flowers” will delight not only children, but also adults, and the dish is good as a variant of a festive snack. It is easy to give a curly shape to the dough, but it turns out quite beautifully and appetizingly! And what flavors!

Hot dogs for children

For 2 pcs:

  • Hot dog buns – 2 pcs
  • Small sausages – 2 pieces
  • Brisket or bacon – 2 slices
  • White cabbage – 200 gr
  • Hard cheese – 100 gr
  • Mayonnaise – 2 tbsp (+ 1 tsp each for brushing the buns)
  • Iceberg lettuce – a couple of pieces for each serving

For decoration:

  • Soy sauce
  • Cheese
  • Sausages

Preparation:

  1. Divide the cabbage into florets and boil in salted water. Then drain the water, cool slightly and mix with mayonnaise and grated cheese on a fine grater.
  2. Boil sausages.
  3. In the meantime, cut the buns halfway through and spread the inside with mayonnaise.
  4. Arrange the washed lettuce leaves, then the bacon slices.
  5. Stuff buns with savory cabbage puree and top with small sausages.
  6. We cut a sausage or sausage into several circles – this will be the ears. Attach them with toothpicks.
  7. Make eyes with drops of sauce. Nose and mouth made of pieces of cheese. Let’s serve the kids!

On plates…

Wicker baskets, with two compartments and fabric lining – as soon as we see such a “baggage” in the hands of the protagonist of a movie or simply on a poster or in magazines and newspapers, we immediately understand the hero going to a picnic. But, keep in mind: in such a basket, the heat of pastries, sandwiches and other dishes quickly disappear through the space between the embossing. An insulated bag is one of the best options if you want to keep food hot, but then you may need to prepare another separate bag for drinks and fruits, because they should not be next to warm foods and dishes.

Picnic Leisure

A picnic is not only eating goodies in nature, but in general a pleasant pastime with games and telling funny stories. Everyone can choose an activity for themselves or have fun with such entertainment as “forfeits” and “crocodile”!

Active games

The time of active games falls on the very first part of the picnic, before the main “feast” or 40-50 minutes after it in order to avoid nausea, dizziness and discomfort. Simple ball games or bowls are great for the whole family. Girls also like to arrange jump rope competitions.

Calm games

When you have already refreshed yourself, or you can say – a little overfed, do not rush to play badminton, it is better to give preference to a more relaxed kind of leisure.

Why not take board games with you on vacation, such as Monopoly or thematically created according to the plots of fairy tales or cartoons your children love, or lotto, dominoes. To make it interesting for young geniuses, we take chess and checkers for them.

Leisure and hobbies

Everyone should be comfortable. Your family likes the options above, but you do not? Don’t be afraid to separate. A book, needlework – if you can take something for a hobby or just a favorite pastime – take it.

But a simple crossword puzzle, for example, can captivate the whole family. Keep score during the game, and whoever guesses the most words will be able to treat himself to a delicious dessert or sweets, which, of course, the rest of the participants will also taste, because friendship always wins.

Have picnics and spend time with friends and family in a fun, exciting and delicious way!

A little more, and each family gets ready for the road – to relax in nature, walk the children tired of the school year and forget about the bustle of the city. The main thing is not to forget anything.

COLADY will tell you what you can take on a picnic for the whole family.

What to take on a picnic from food and products – a list

  • Fruits and vegetables. They should be washed and packed in advance so as not to waste time on nature. Yes, and clean water at a picnic – the amount is limited (we take more!). It will come in handy for fish soup, delicious tea, washing hands and laundering your little ones. Do not get carried away with exotic fruits, so as not to spend your picnic behind the bushes closest to the parking lot. From vegetables, they usually take a standard set – tomatoes, cucumbers, greens, zucchini for barbecue, potatoes (medium – for baking), bell peppers, onions – for barbecue and fish soup. By the way, potatoes can be boiled in advance at home in their uniforms.
  • Canned. This, of course, is not about stew (unless your plans include a week-long trip with a tent), but about canned food for a side dish – corn, beans, green peas, olives, salted cucumbers, etc. A good food option that you can take for a picnic in the woods, for example.
  • For sandwiches. It is advisable to choose ready-made cuts in packages in the store to save yourself time on a picnic – hard cheeses, sausage or boiled pork, lard, etc.
  • Meat, fish, eggs. It is better to fry fish at home in pieces, choosing a fillet (it will be just too lazy to mess with the bones, and for children it will be an extra headache). Meat can also be cooked at home or marinated for barbecue (for 1 person – about 0.5 kg) and take with you in a convenient container for cooking on the grill. Chicken kebab (by the way) cooks faster. And there is also an option – chicken wings fried over a fire with spices. And, of course, cold fried chicken will be a joy for everyone – do not forget about it, cook it in advance. Hard boil the eggs the day before.

  • Sugar, salt, sauces (mayonnaise/ketchup), spices.
  • Baby food. If your little ones don’t eat adult food, make sure they have a holiday too. In addition to the main food of children, you can take their favorite fruits, juices, sweets. It will be difficult to cook porridge on a fire, so instant porridge will be the way out – fortunately, there is no shortage of them today. Choose sweets without quickly spoiling creams and cream.
  • Bread, roll (in different packages!), biscuits, croutons, cookies.
  • Drinks – tea (in bags), coffee (it is especially tasty in nature), juices, water (with a margin), drinks for adults (in moderation).

How to transport food for a picnic

  • Do not take perishable food with you. We leave pates, raw eggs, cakes, soft cheeses, curds and all kinds of super-fresh buns at home.
  • Purchase a portable car cooler, or at least a cooler bag. Especially if you are traveling with children. Ready meals are transported only in it. If this is not possible, line the bottom of the bag with newspaper and line the food with bottles of cold water. In nature, you can make a refrigerator the old fashioned way – by digging a hole in a shady piece of land (sand) and hiding packaged products in it.
  • Place all food and prepared meals in plastic containers – firstly, it is convenient (nothing will spill, wrinkle, lose its appearance), and secondly, container lids can be useful for serving the “table”.

It is clear that there is no point in carrying stuffed cabbage rolls, stuffed peppers and a bowl of cutlets with you if you are going to fry shish kebabs. But while this barbecue is cooked, you will have time to get hungry 10 times. Therefore, look for the golden mean and take what will really be relevant and tasty.

What you need for a picnic – a list of things

Of course, the list of things for everyone will be different. If you are traveling “on foot”, for a day and alone, this is one option, but if you are traveling with a large company (family), for the weekend and in 2-3 cars, it is completely different.

Therefore, proceed from your needs, and we will tell you what can be useful on a picnic.

  • Tent . Even if you are going for a day, it can be useful for those who want to relax, take a nap, sober up, or play pirates and mother-daughters. A tent-tent will also be useful, which will save heads from the sun and sudden rain. If a picnic is planned in the forest, a tent is indispensable.
  • Sleeping bags, bedspreads, blankets, rugs – without them, you can’t go on a picnic at all.
  • Table oilcloth . Or maybe even the table itself (folding), if there is enough space in the car.
  • Folding chairs or sun loungers . Or air mattresses (beds) and pillows – for convenience (do not forget about the pump). Folding chairs – for the elderly.
  • Warm clothes in case a long picnic is planned – with morning fishing trips, night songs by the fire with hot mulled wine and late awakenings to the singing of birds.
  • For the fire. Charcoal for barbecue, firewood hatchet (+ firewood if they are not available on site), spatula, lighters/matches, newspapers for kindling, gloves.
  • Brazier, skewers, grill grate. Foil for roasting potatoes, fish or vegetables.
  • Pot for fish soup and mulled wine, cast iron pan, long stirring spoon.
  • For fishing : rods/spinning rods, baits/baits, net, boat/pump, bait, line, hooks/weights.
  • For the table: disposable tableware – plates of different sizes and depths, glasses, plastic cutlery.
  • Paper and wet wipes , toilet paper, liquid soap.
  • Corkscrew, can opener , regular food cutting knives, cutting board.
  • Anti-UV sunscreen, mosquito and tick repellent (sprays and creams, coils).
  • Sun umbrellas.
  • Bathing articles : swimwear/swimsuits, towels, rubber rings and mattresses.
  • First aid kit (iodine, brilliant green, bandages, plasters, activated charcoal, remedies for abdominal pain and indigestion, antispasmodics and analgesics, allergy drugs, for the heart, etc.).
  • For entertainment : guitar, radio or receiver, games (chess, backgammon, etc.), ball, frisbee, badminton, book or newspaper with crossword puzzles.
  • For children: toys (easy to clean), sandcastle builder set, toddler pool, felt-tip pens/albums (if little ones are drawn to creativity). Necessarily – a change of clothes, comfortable shoes, warm clothes, panama hats on your heads and a navigator-keychain around your neck (so as not to get lost).
  • Garbage bags to take all the rubbish with you after a picnic.
  • Camera, camera, phone, flashlights . With spare batteries.

The main thing is to take a good mood with you and not to fuss over trifles!
