How long is CDL in Illinois?
Depending on your CDL program, your training may take a couple of weeks or more. Our training program is designed to prepare you for the exam and to give you the skills to drive safely on the open road. Our thorough training will help you get a job after passing the exam!
-
How much do CDL drivers earn?
There is currently a shortage of CDL drivers in the labor market. Worst since the late 90s. This has led to a significant increase in the wages of commercial drivers. According to local recruitment agencies, a truck driver salary in Chicago is between $53,000 and $73,000 per year.

How is the CDL training?
Alpha Truck Driving School will prepare you for the classroom-based written exam. Once you receive a CDL student permit, your training will focus on learning the basics of commercial trailer inspection, proper trip planning techniques, and DOT safety rules.
Upon satisfactory completion, the student will continue on to our driving range. Our curriculum consists of 20 hours of driving instruction on local streets and interstate roads, 20 hours of skill development, and 20 hours of observation coaching.
-
How old do you have to be to get a CDL?
Driver must be at least 18 years of age to drive a commercial vehicle within state lines, operator must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle out of state. The driver must also have a valid driver’s license. You must also be 21 years of age to transport hazardous materials or passengers.
-

-
What is a CDL A license?
The
Class A CDL is a commercial driver’s license that allows you to drive any combination vehicle up to £26,000. A road train is a vehicle that has a tractor and a trailer or trailers (the driver must have the appropriate permits). Class A CDL is the highest driving license category and allows the holder to drive smaller vehicles (Class B or Class C). No matter which engineering degree you choose to work with, CDL will give you the opportunity to advance your career!
-
What are the endorsements on a commercial driver’s license?
Permits are required to carry certain types of goods or to operate a combination vehicle with more than one trailer. In order to receive confirmation of your CDL license, you must pass a series of tests, mostly written.
Passenger confirmation also requires a road test – bus driving. Hazardous materials approval (Hazmat) requires prior verification.
For more information contact us at (630) 628-1111.
How do I get a commercial driver’s license?
The first step to obtaining a commercial driver’s license is to verify ELDT-compliant truck driving schools. Alpha Truck Driving School is certified for entry level driver training. Then obtain a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CDL) to begin your program of study.
When choosing a CDL training school, be aware that some transportation companies offer paid CDL training, but this includes a contract with that company, which means less freedom to work the way you would like. Other transportation companies offer tuition compensation, so be aware that you have options!

Curtis Blades
Curtis Lionell Blades , nicknamed “Razor” was born February 18, 1991 in Naperville, near Chicago, Illinois, USA. Lives in Lakewood, Colorado, USA.
He competes in the heavyweight division. He trains with the Elevation Fight Team. Basic wrestler.
Curtis Blades Road to MMA
Curtis’s childhood passed in the friendly company of four brothers and sisters. In high school, he began to get involved in wrestling, in his senior year he won the state championship. At the same time, he won 44 victories and did not suffer a single defeat. In just 4 years, he won 95 fights with 18 losses, and also scored a record number of takedowns (121). (It is noteworthy that in the future, Blades will become the champions in the total number of takedowns in the heavyweight division of the UFC. )
At school, Curtis was also fond of American football, playing as a quarterback. But after moving to the university level, he devoted himself entirely to martial arts. He won the NJCAA Championship in 2012.
Over time, he switched to MMA. And so seriously that he did not complete his studies in college. He worked as a security guard at a nightclub before he was able to support himself through sports.
At the same time, he did not stay at the amateur level in MMA, limiting himself to only eight fights.
In May 2014 he made his professional debut.
Curtis Blades in UFC
Having won five victories under the auspices of ordinary promotions, Curtis signed a contract with the UFC in 2016. And in the very first fight he was brought to Francis Enganna – the future top, contender for the title and the real “bogeyman” of the division, crushing most of the opponents during the first minutes of the fight.
At that time, Engannou was also a newcomer to the organization with one victorious performance in the UFC and not yet obvious prospects. However, Francis dominated the fight and gradually broke the opponent with power punches from a distance. In the second round, a deep cut opened over Blades’ right eye. Curtis lasted until the end of the 5-minute, but the doctor forbade him to continue the meeting. Total – defeat by technical knockout (TKO 2) in April 2016.
In October, Blades closed the loss with a TKO 2 victory over Cody East, earning a Performance of the Night bonus. He also won the next, third fight, stopping Adam Milstead in the second round. However, later the victory was taken away from Curtis, changing the result of the fight to “not held”. The reason was a positive doping test for marijuana Blades.
Despite not the most rosy statistics after three performances – a victory, a defeat and a “not held” fight – Curtis did not lose heart and brought his career in the UFC in a positive way.
Within one year, from July 2017 to June 2018, he scored four victories in a row – on points (UD 3) over Daniel Omelyanchuk and Mark Hunt, and ahead of schedule over Alexei Oleinik (TKO 2) and Alistair Overeem (TKO 3). For the latter, he received the “Performance of the Night” bonus.
A successful streak allowed Blades to get a rematch with Engannou. He just had a black streak of two failures in a row – the formidable Francis was defeated on points by the reigning champion Stipe Miocic, after which he lost to Derrick Lewis, not even close to resembling a familiar destruction machine.
Unfortunately for Curtis, in November 2018, the “real” Engannou entered the cage with him. Within 45 seconds after the start of the fight, it was all over – the second defeat of the Blades, this time much more crushing.
Since 2019, Curtis has begun to catch up and regain his position in the top 5 of the heavyweight division of the UFC. First he dealt with Justin Willis (UD 3), then stopped Shamil Abdurakhimov in the 2nd round.
In 2020, Razor scored two more victorious performances. In January, before the lockdown and a temporary ban on holding sporting events in the United States, he managed to score in the second 5-minute of the ex-champion from Brazil, Junior dos Santos. And in June, he surpassed the Russian Alexander Volkov in the 5-round marathon – all three judges gave the victory to Blades.
Curtis was supposed to fight Derrick Lewis at the end of November, but due to Blaydes’ illness with the coronavirus, the meeting was postponed to February 20, 2021. This fight became the main event of the UFC Fight Night 185 tournament and ended with an early victory for Lewis, who knocked out Blades in the 2nd round.
On September 25, 2021, as part of the main card of UFC 266, Blades returned in a duel against Surinamese Jairzinho Rozenstruik, sadly defeating him on points.
On March 26, 2022, Blades faced Chris Dokos in the main event of UFC on ESPN 33. The result of the battle was an early victory for Razor in the second round.
Curtis Blades last fight
On July 23, Curtis performed again in the promotion’s main event. This time he went to London to experience the local avenue Tom Aspinall.
