About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:
The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.

Schools in the Khamovniki district – is it easy to get there, addresses in Moscow
There are 22 free public schools and 3 paid ones in Khamovniki. Among all educational institutions in this area, there are two included in the TOP-10 best in Moscow in terms of education: school No. 1535 – 2nd place in the ranking, and school No. 57 – 8th place.
All schools in the Khamovniki district
For several years, a reform was going on in Moscow, during which the total number of Moscow schools was more than halved – from 1570 to 700. The reduction was carried out by merging strong schools with ordinary ones within the same district. This made available profile classes in which education is conducted at a high level. This allows students to adequately pass the exam in the selected subjects and enter the university for the desired specialty.
The first of September in Khamovniki
The merger of schools created some confusion for parents in the search and selection, because one number in the name of the educational institution changed to another. At the same time, all the capital’s gymnasiums and lyceums were demoted to ordinary schools in 2017. For example, on the website of gymnasium 1521 it is now written that this is school No. 1231 named after Vasily Polenov.
In this article, the authors of the Khamovniki.com portal will tell you about all the public schools in one of the most comfortable areas for living in Moscow.
